Grounding Terminals & Ceramic Terminal Blocks for Panel / Chassis Mounting
Series DFB-EN grounding terminals are designed for panel or chassis mounting and provide safe and reliable connection of stripped, unterminated, stranded or solid copper wires.
The square or hexagonal base on types DFB-EN simplifies installation. Both types feature a spring loaded locking cap, which provides an explosion proof connection. The nickel plated brass construction resists corrosion and ensures excellent electrical contact.
This product complies with ATEX directive.
For the European market, compliance to ATEX Directive 94/9/EC and CE Marking Directive are required when designing, manufacturing or selling components, equipment or protective systems for applications in potentially explosive atmosphere.
The ATEX Directive sets a number of technical and quality objectives that must be complied with to the satisfaction of a notified body. Having met these, a manufacturer is entitled to display the distinctive European Mark EX that is recognized throughout the European Union. Manufacturers that choose the appropriate notified body with the required technical expertise and reputation can take full advantage of the ATEX Directive.
Potentially explosive atmospheres are subject to particular regulations and requirements. Terminals and terminal blocks which have to be used in these atmospheres must especially comply with the following harmonized European standards: Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres EN 50014 and EN 55019 increased safety EEx e.
For terminals and terminal blocks complying with these particular requirements, partial certificates are issued by an EC authorized testing institute (e.g. the Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt PTB in Braunschweig). These certificates serve as a basis for final acceptance with the issue of a complete test certificate for the entire installation.
Our Ex-terminals can be used at ambient temperatures up to 40° (88°F) for the temperature classes T1 to T6, since even with self-heating at the rated current, the limiting temperatures will not be reached.
In addition to the PTB certificates (EEx e II) several terminal blocks have also been certified by the Mines Testing Station (BVS) in Dortmund, which confirms their suitability for use in explosion proof environment (EEx e I)
Our range includes uninsulated terminals, terminal blocks and motor terminal boards. We will be happy to send the respective test certificate on request.
